I would say that I had a Christian advantage from the start..or very near to the start. At the time of my birth many of my extended family members were already Christians and indeed were already members of Pacific Grace MB church. My mother soon gave her life to the Lord and I followed suit at age 6. I remember it was my Uncle Owen who led me to Christ and we prayed by my bedside in my grandma’s house.

Struggling. With rationalizing the reality of God-especially the doctrine of Christ and needing to give Him Lordship in order to gain acceptance into His eternal kingdom. Is that too rigid of a formula? Too textbook-like? Too hard to comprehend? Too uncool? Yes it is and Jesus even covered this one…

Dear reader,
Hi, how are you? What brings you to this letter of mine? Seeing that this is a letter, there’s almost no way for you to respond… no way for me to know where you’re coming from as you’re reading, no way for me to respond to how your day or week or year has been. So, trapped in this unilateral mode of communication, I suppose all I can do is tell you about myself. That is, after all, why you’re here, isn’t it?

“Been there, done that.”
Alright. I’ll save you and I the trouble of exchanging the conversation that goes, “Cindy? You’re back?” “Yup. Don’t have time to explain everything. Too much has happened.”

Currently I am working as a pastor at Pacific Grace MB Church in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. I really enjoy what I do, as I get many opportunities to share about the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is just so exciting to know that I am part of a bigger plan and that God is in control of everything.

The process of how I became a Christian was no less a miracle than any other Christians have experienced. My grandparents were Catholics. Although my grandfather was less expressive about his faith, my grandmother constantly demonstrated her faith through her actions.

I sort of grew up in the church, I went since I was 3 or 4. When I was 7 or so though, my mom starting working the night shift, and we went less and less until we finally stopped altogether. I knew about God, but not really about His love or how His Son died for us. The only thing I knew was God made everything happen.

I have been raised with the thought that there is a God out there. But what really got my attention was an illustration with Robin Hood Flour and black ink.
Yep, flour and ink…

Of all the questions you will ask yourself in life, probably the most important is, Am I good enough to go to Heaven? Here is a story I want to share briefly. During my years in high school, I already had my own morals. I was a good kid, in my opinion. I knew what the bad stuff was such as drinking, smoking, and trouble making. I knew some commandments too and sometimes followed by it. I thought that as long as I was the doing right things I would go to heaven.

Growing up I was a normal child. I lead a normal life with normal friends and caring parents. I did not know Jesus and I did not attend church, except for the seldom occasiona like Christmas or Easter. As a child, I had morals. I knew the difference between right and wrong, bad and good.

Hi there, My name is Philana, and I would like to testify that GOD IS AN AWESOME GOD who is merciful and gracious to all. With personal experience I know that He is the creator of all things yet such a personal God that He died for my sins.

I began searching for a new relationship with God, and found it. I had always considered myself close to the Lord, but I found that I wasn’t even close at all.

I was born February 9,1970. I was an unplanned pregnancy and my mother never married my father. Infact, my mother admitted to me that she thought of having an abortion and always adds how glad she was that she didn’t. I thank THE LORD.

I grew up in a Christian family, and my parents had always taught me about God, brought me to church & Sunday School, etc. And I knew that God loved me and would answer my prayers, but God wasn’t really personal and important in my life.

I would like to give you 2 questions to ponder on while I give you a brief introduction.
-Do you think there is a heaven or a hell?
-If you died right now, where would you go? If heaven, why?

My Christian life started back not too long ago. But, before this, I grew up as a Catholic.

I grew up in a Christian home, and I guess I have always been exposed to Christian values and beliefs. I’ve been taught that there has been a God, and his son Jesus came to die for us. And I used to just pass it by, glance at it and say, ‘Yeah, so what? What’s in it for me?’. Being exposed to these beliefs since I was a born, I came to think of Church as something I had to do. This was what I had to do, because my parents told me to.

I had just passed away. I rose from my bed and walked to the door. “This is it”, I thought. “It’s time to leave”. I felt strong and secure; I was prepared to walk into the unknown. I made my way to the living room and I saw a huge tree, transparent and silvery, shining brightly. It was beautiful. The tree represented my life: full and perfect. I fell down on my knees and began laughing; I was pleased and content. But to my horror, the tree became dark, hollow, and rotted. I completely broke down at what was revealed to me. Later that night, I was admitted into the hospital for a high fever, one that had caused me to hallucinate and become hysterical.

In my first year at university, I went through a period of depression and emotional turmoil. My best friends Cheryl and Louisa had been meaning to share the gospel with me for a long time. On April 4, 1997, the three of us were sitting together in the cafeteria, and Louisa shared the 4 Spiritual Laws with me. I felt something inside of me change, as if I suddenly discovered a lost memory and I burst out crying.

A Relationship with God: Experiencing His Love
There was no stroke of lightning, no flash of realization and definitely no complete change in my life in a day when I received Christ into my heart. His love appeared to me gradually. There were no boundaries involved. He never gave up on me because I made stupid mistakes, when I was disrespectful to my parents and even when I hated Him for putting me in the worst of situations. He didn’t let go. Forgiveness, grace, and mercy, this is the reason why I was given a second chance. God gave up His son for me.
